Gym day not Gem day

Updated: Jan 11

It finally happened! I made it to the gym and found my long lost friend sweat! How anyone could get so excited, but I did! I was sparkling just like a gem! I really must say I didn't feel like a million bucks, but I was so proud of myself for accomplishing a decent workout, showering and actually getting dressed. For some that's a lot. There are days for me that's just too much, but today was work a smiley face sticker! Instead, I decided to forgo the sticker and treat myself to ME time on the couch, a cup of tea and cozy socks that felt like velvet. It has taken me a long time to realize that sometimes it's the little things that count. Who knows, if this girl makes through a workout tomorrow maybe there's something even better to treat myself too. You guys should share with me what things you do for yourself to treat yourselves for a job well done! I would love to hear. Maybe I can add to my list.

I have to say working out puts me in a better mood. It has to be all those endorphins running through the body. It makes me feel like my clothes feel better (even if I still have to lay down to zip my pants. ha ha). It also mentally puts me in a better place. I was speaking to a friend of my daughters today and she was say how much she relied on her, how much she had it "together" and just didn't know what she would do without her. As a mom it just gave my "mom brain" and "mom ego" a big boost. Again shinning like a gem! I believe as humans we owe it to ourselves to pat ourselves on the back or let others do it for us and receive it. Everyone deserves to go to the "gym" and shine like a gem, whatever that means or looks like to you! Be that star or gem that shines so bright another person notices and says, "I want what she/he has, I want what you have!" I mean let's face it, in the world today, there's way more negativity out there and put down when what we really need is positivity and support. So take the leap and shine like the superstar I know your are!!!!
